NARS

Rodial

How To Choose The Best Concealer!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer has been a staple in my make up bag for YEARS.

I had no reason to change, until I saw the Rodial Banana Lowlighter all over the ‘gram.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I had to give it a go…

Rodial Banana Lowlighter

I had high hopes for this concealer…

The pictures looked amazing, the reviews online were booming, and the price tag alone told me it must be something special?

‘The Best-Selling, Airbrush Concealer, That Will Illuminate Your Dark Circles’

Let’s find out if it’s actually worth the big bucks…

Once blended in with my Beauty Blender…

First things first, WOW.

It gives a beautiful, creamy glow finish and a highlighter all in one.

I haven’t got any highlighter on here, but it looks like I have!

It’s also covered my dark circles PERFECTLY.

Full coverage and dewy.

So how does it compare to NARS?

So to really see the difference, I put one of each concealer under each eye.

Rodial is on the left, and NARS is on the right.

This way I can see the coverage, the finish, and the glow.

As you can see, NARS has a much more natural look.

Whereas Rodial is alot thicker, a brighter yellow tone, and a lot more comes out on the brush.

Let’s see what it looks like once I’ve blended it in…

After buffing in with a sponge, NARS near enough blends away.

Whereas Rodial, you can really see the airbrush effects it leaves behind.

Rodial definitely gives a better glow.

It also seems to hide my under eye wrinkles a lot better than the NARS.

NARS blended in with my foundation a lot better, so if you’re looking for a natural look, this still gives a nice creamy colour (it is called NARS Creamy Concealer to be fair!).

Let’s see what they both look like individually with a full face of make up on…

The Finished Look

For the finished look I used each concealer under my eyes, in the middle of my forehead, and a little bit on my chin.

I wanted to see how each concealer can shape my face and enhance my make up.

I’m using the Huda Faux Filter foundation as a base and the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder on top.

The Results…

Rodial definitely brightens a lot better than the NARS.

It has a lot more of a reflective and shimmery look.

Rodial also, somehow, hides my wrinkles a lot better.

Therefore, Rodial is 100% my winner.

NARS is still a lovely concealer.

And if you’re looking for a more natural look, with a smaller price tag, NARS will do the job.
