NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

VS

Rodial Banana Lowlighter

How To Choose The Best Concealer!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer has been a staple in my make up bag for YEARS.

I use the shade Custard and it always blends into my foundation beautifully.

It gives a lovely glow, always covers anything I need it to, and doesn’t have a ridiculous price tag.

I had no reason to change, until I saw the Rodial Banana Lowlighter all over the ‘gram.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I had to give it a go…

‘The Best-Selling, Airbrush Concealer, That Will Illuminate Your Dark Circles’

I had high hopes for this concealer – the pictures looked amazing, the reviews online were booming, and the price tag alone told me it must be something special?

I was also excited about the jam-packed goodness in this product…

Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E to promote moisture and a skin plumping effect.

So this concealer will be adding nutrients and a giving a ‘lit-from-within glow.’

Let’s find out if it’s actually worth the big bucks…

So to really see the difference, I put one of each concealer under each eye, so I can see the coverage, the finish, and assess the ‘glow factor!’

As you can see, the NARS has a much more natural look about it, whereas the Rodial is a lot thicker, with a brighter yellow tone, and a lot more comes out on the brush.

Let’s see what it looks like once I’ve blended it in…

After buffing in with a sponge, NARS near enough blends away, whereas Rodial you can really see the difference, and live’s up to it’s airbrush claims.

Rodial definitely gives a better glow, and seems to hide my under eye wrinkles a bit better than the NARS.

NARS blended in with my foundation a lot better, so if you’re looking for a natural look, this still gives a nice creamy colour (it is called NARS Creamy Concealer to be fair!).

Let’s see what they both look like individually with a full face of make up on…

For the finished look, I used the concealer under both of my eyes, in the middle of my forehead and a little bit on my chin, to really see how it shapes my face and enhances my make up.

I’m using the Huda Faux Filter foundation as a base (absolute staple!), and to finish on top the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder (if you don’t already, get to know!).

The Results…

The Rodial definitely brightens a lot better then the NARS, this could be due to it’s lighter tone, however in the light it just has a lot more of a reflective and shimmery look.

Rodial also, somehow, hides my wrinkles a lot better.

I didn’t actually realise I had wrinkles under my eyes until I started analysing my face in pictures, (wouldn’t recommend), but when I compare each picture you can definitely see more with the NARS than the Rodial.

Then add in the clear difference in brightening and highlighting, there’s a reason this concealer is all of over social media.

Therefore, Rodial is 100% my winner.

NARS is still a lovely concealer, and if you’re looking for a more natural look to help with covering and blending here and there, with a smaller price tag, NARS will do the job.

If you’re looking for a noticeable difference under your eyes, a nice glow, and a concealer to go with your contour routine, I would say get yourself one of these Banana Lowlighters asap.
