So What’s So Good About Matcha?

Coming all the way from Japan, matcha tea is the mother of all green teas.

Finely ground down, the way the leaves are processed means it keeps ALL of its benefits…

High in antioxidants

Antioxidants help to stabilise the harmful free radicals that cause damage to your cells in your skin e.g. acne, wrinkles, sun damage, the list goes on!

Boost blood circulation

Filled with methylxanthines, this boosts the blood circulation around your body, promoting healthy, glowing skin, ensuring scars are healed quicker and the skin is nourished with oxygen.

Reduces oil production

Studies have shown that matcha significantly reduces oil production, which is one of the main causes of acne.

Reduces Stress

Filled with the amino acid L-theanine, this has been proven to reduce stress and have a calming effect on the body. Less stress = clearer skin.

Matcha & Co have absolutely nailed the matcha green tea – organic, premium powder, shipped directly from Japan, with plenty of options to choose from.

I went for the premium matcha, meaning this is the tea that s harvested first, so has a deeper green colour and a milder (less bitter) taste.

You can also go for the Ceremonial grade (a bit cheaper! but a bit stronger in taste), or if you fancy matcha with collagen (why not!), there’s also an option for that!

Whichever one you fancy, a spoonful of this in your oats will have you feeling more energised, improved mood, and flourishing skin.

Recipe

  • 60g Rolled Oats
  • 1 tablespoon of Vanilla Protein Yoghurt (this makes it extra creamy!)
  • 120ml of oat milk
  • 1 scoop of Chocolate Hazelnut Protein Powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Matcha Powderthe superfood that will transform your skin
  • 10g of Chia Seeds – these are what thickens the the oats and make them lovely and creamy. Plus extra benefits such as antioxidants, omega 3 and full of fibre
  • 1 Teaspoon of Manuka Honeyto add a sweet kick and neutralise the bitter taste from the matcha, Manuka honey is a great addition to your daily routine as it’s full of antimicrobials and anti-inflamatories

Give it a good stir and add your favourite fruits – my favourite is raspberries and strawberries!
