Sunday Riley Juno Oil

Elemis Superfood Facial Oil

How to Choose the Best Oil for Your Skin!

Facial oils are the next big thing.

But with so many on the market promising to transform your skin, which one will actually do the job?

I’ve tried the top two facial oils in the beauty world right now and I am about to share with you the one that came out on top.

Two pretty pricey products. Two massive brands. Two tiny bottles of solid goodness…

Why Oil?

Oil is the most moisturising product you can put on your skin.

It creates a barrier to trap in water and the other moisturising products you’ve just applied to your skin, and keeps everything else out!

And with most oils packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals (the list goes on), these babies will slow down the ageing process, give your skin an extra glow and keep it lovely and soft. All. Night. Long.

Sunday Riley Juno Oil

I bought this oil the same time as I bought the Sunday Riley Retinol serum (life changing btw – click here to read all about it), as I knew I needed a thorough moisturiser after introducing retinol to my skincare regime.

Standing in the middle of the beauty room in Harrods, I googled all the different types of Sunday Riley oils on my phone, looking at the reviews for each – (they have 4 altogether) – and decided for my acne prone skin that the Juno Oil will be the best one.

I definitely fell in love with it after the first use.

My skin felt so soft as I rubbed it into my cheeks. I felt like I had skin like a baby’s bum, cleansed and oiled, ready for bed.

My skin was clear after a few days. Plump. Radiant. And all round looking absolutely fabulous.

Packed with 9 antioxidants, I knew I was coating my skin in pure goodness, and it felt amazing.

Elemis Superfood Facial Oil

My friend works for Elemis head office, and I was coming to the end of my third bottle of Juno oil when she asked me if I wanted anything –  with her hefty 75% discount!

I thought let me see what some other oils are like – I’ve only tried one so far!

The Elemis Superfood Facial Oil had amazing reviews. It’s pretty pricey, but hey you get what you pay for right? Plus I was getting 75% off.

As I rubbed it into my cheeks that night I could definitely tell a stronger smell then Juno. Some would like it as it actually feels like you’re in a spa. However, if you’re sensitive to strong smelling products this potentially would put you off.

I noticed the oil felt a lot thicker with the Elemis. As I massaged it in to my skin it felt a lot more luxurious, moisturising and I could smell the barrage of superfoods seeping into my face.

Not sure at this point if this was a good thing or if it was actually going to clog my pores.

But I can safely say after a few days use my skin was the clearest it had ever been.

Nothing clogged, just everything plump and radiant.

So Which Oil is Best for You?

I felt slightly guilty just throwing Sunday Riley into the dustbin that quickly, so I decided to do a touch test the next morning after applying each oil and see if my skin felt softer after Elemis or Juno.

The winner?

Yes, unfortunately, the most expensive oil of the two – the Elemis Superfood Facial Oil.

This nutrient rich oil really does pack them in – 9 superfoods in this little bottle! And your face will definitely thank you for it.

Juno has vitamin C and omega 3 & 6 – still skin loving stuff! So it’s just what takes your personal preference.

If you haven’t tried oil before I would recommend starting with Sunday Riley Juno as it’s not as thick and won’t be as much of a shock to your skin.

If you’ve been around the block a few times and just looking for the next best thing to put on your skin, you have to give Elemis Superfood a go.
